EP 53: JAY LONDON (LAST COMIC STANDING)

Jay London became a seemingly “over-night” standup comedy star as a contestant on “Last Comic Standing” in 2003 and 2004. (He was known for his “cave man” look and one-liners.)

After years of toiling away in tiny comedy clubs, it appeared Jay had finally “made it.” He earned a coveted standup comedy appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and he traveled the country in a high paying comedy tour. All was good – a standup comedian's dream.

Now, more than ten years later, the TV gigs are gone and the tours are over. However Jay continues to relentlessly perform anywhere he can find a stage.

Over this fascinating episode filled with laughter and heart, Jay opens up about all of the unbelievable challenges he's faced throughout his entire life.

From still not knowing who raised him as an infant – to his early life of petty crime, Jay bravely shares all!

EP 52: TOM KRAMER (Writer/Director) (Curb Your Enthusiasm/Fridays)

At 20 years old Tom Kramer had the break of his life writing and directing films for such future comedic greats as Larry David, Larry Charles, and many others on ABC's “Fridays.” But after the show ended, soon drug/alcohol addiction and depression devoured his life… seemingly destroying his career.

Tom courageously and emotionally shares with us the excruciating AND inspiring details of his life story that includes: homelessness, repeated rehab stays, brutal drunk driving accidents, and a failed suicide attempt.

Despite the overwhelming odds, Tom now has his life back. He's directed an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” written/produced on TBS' hit show, “Deal With It,” alongside Howie Mandel, and had many other incredible career successes.

But Tom's greatest life achievement is that he has finally found inner serenity, acceptance, and love! Tears of gratitude and joy literally fill the studio in this spiritually moving, hopeful, and uplifting hour.

NOTE: The black and white pic appearing on the skidrow studios sight, features the Fridays writing staff. Tom is pictured lower right. And three up, counter clockwise, is a young Larry David.
